The 27th Annual Golden Valley Rotary Awards Luncheon took place on June 23rd at Brookview Golden Valley. Golden Valley Rotarians and friends gathered to celebrate all things Rotary during the 2025-2026 year. We presented the Citizen of the Year award to Michelle Christensen of One Good Deed. The Rotarian of the Year award was presented to Bryan Rossi, two-time Past President. And our three 2026 high school scholarship recipients were honored: Sophia Buck from Robbinsdale Armstrong High School (not pictured), Amelia Schulz from Hopkins High School, and Ajay Nicholas from Perpich Arts High School. The event was emceed by Alisha Weis, Club President, who kicked off her second presidential term. It was a great celebratory event in the fifty-three year history of the Golden Valley Rotary Club!

5:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. – Community Check-in to receive your passport under the Golden Valley Water Tower by City Hall. FREE to attendees and open to all. Passports distributed until 6:30 p.m. or until they're gone, whichever is first. Also at this location: play games, face painting station, and shuttle stop.
5:00 p.m. - 7:45 p.m. – Community members tour participating businesses, enjoying fare and/or activities provided by the businesses. Validate your visit on your passport. Hop on the shuttle to explore more businesses.
7:45 p.m. - Closing Reception with Raffle and Prize Drawings
Rotary is Saving Mothers & Children
July is designated as Maternal and Child Health month. Rotary makes high-quality health care available to vulnerable mothers and children so they can live longer and grow stronger. We expand access to quality care, so mothers and children everywhere can have the same opportunities for a healthy future. An estimated 5.9 million children under the age of five die each year because of malnutrition, inadequate health care, and poor sanitation — all of which can be prevented. Rotary provides education, immunizations, birth kits, and mobile health clinics. Women are taught how to prevent mother-to-infant HIV transmission, how to breast-feed, and how to protect themselves and their children from disease.
The Golden Valley Rotary Club gathered on June 10, 2025 with members of the community to celebrate all things Rotary during the 2024-2025 year. We presented the Citizen of the Year award to Dean Penk of the Golden Valley Community Foundation. The Rotarian of the Year award was presented to Assistant District Governor, Mary Timmons. Our high school scholarship recipients from Hopkins High School, Perpich Arts High School, and Robbinsdale Armstrong High School were honored. This year's recipients were Isabelle Mayer of Hopkins High School, Alma Soave of Perpich Arts High School, and Seran Umar of Robbinsdale Armstrong High School. Bryan Rossi, Club President, passed the gavel to incoming Club President, Alisha Weis. It was a great celebratory event in the fifty-two year history of the Golden Valley Rotary Club!
