Jason Zimmerman, Golden Valley City Planning Manager, will talk about The Downtown GV Redesign.

Jason Zimmerman is the Planning Manager for Golden Valley. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Carleton College and graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a Master’s degree in City Planning.

Following a stint as a Research Fellow at the University of Minnesota, he spent a number of years working as a full-time stay-at-home parent for four kids before returning to municipal planning. He has been with Golden Valley for six years and oversees day to day planning and zoning operations as well as long range efforts such as the recent adoption of the City’s 2040 Comprehensive Plan.

In his spare time, he enjoys long distance running and caring for numerous household pets.
