Tennant Company of Golden Valley received the Business of the Year award from Golden Valley Rotary Club. October is "Economic and Community Development Month" for the Rotary International calendar. The Golden Valley Rotary Club celebrates by naming a local Business of the Year to honor. The 2018 selection is Tennant Company of Golden Valley.

Tennant Company is recognized for their commitment to operating with unquestionable integrity and high standing in the community; their financial giving through foundation grants to the local community, including to the Golden Valley Rotary Club and PRISM; their commitment to environmental sustainability, renewable energy, recycling, and reduction of emissions; and their commitment to opposing human rights violations, including acts of slavery and human trafficking. Golden Valley Rotary Club believes that Tennant Company exemplifies Rotary's motto of "Service-Above-Self."

This was the 12th annual celebration of Golden Valley Rotary Club’s Business of the Year. In 2006, Golden Valley Rotary Club began the annual practice during Rotary's "Economic and Community Development Month" each October. A business or organization based in Golden Valley is honored that: exemplifies and shows leadership in good works in the community; is perceived to be a good employer in the community; and is perceived to observe high ethical standards, integrity, competence, and professional contributions in its industry.
